Often cited as an emblem of Lacanian psychoanalytic thought, The Ambassadors by Hans Holbein the Younger is exhibited in both gallery and classroom alike. In this artwork an infinitely nested version of Holbein's 1533 painting is placed as the only slide within a endlessly repeating Keynote presentation. The 3D OpenGL effects famously used in Steve Jobs' Macworld addresses work to activate anamorphosis within the image so illuminating to Lacan's thought. One can imagine Jaques Lacan pressing the space bar with flourish to conclude a point in his celebrated lectures on the Four Fundamental Elements of Psychoanalysis.
