The antithesis of the carbon system and the graphite cube, the iconography of the cursor is used to describe the static state of resistance to systems of meaning. Here, the cursor is added to a well known photograph of Jackson Pollock, immobilized in the presence of an enormous white canvas that will become Peggy Guggenheim’s commission, Mural. Pollock would wait until the night before his deadline to start this, one of his first large abstractions.
